Let’s face it … they like to tell you that if a drum is played properly and cared for it will “last a lifetime.” Sorry, but that is not true! Every drum, even if only handled with gloves on, will someday require the skills and knowledge of a professional drum technician if it is to be kept at its best. If that drum is traveling on the road, well, even the best cases cannot protect it all the time.

At NM Custom Drums we are capable to rebuild and restore most percussion instruments, often spending hours locating rare and vintage parts to replace worn-out items.

Drums arrive here in all conditions. One of our most requested repairs is to replace the drum covering. As part of this service the shell is completely stripped of hardware and the bearing edges will be reshaped. The drum is returned not only looking new, but playing with a sound that had long since faded away.

Whether it be the drum’s hardware, cosmetics or adjustments to the bearing edges, NM Custom Drums is capable of meeting the needs of each performer or complete drum line.
